Disable Trim Command Cutting Edges Selection Preview / Highlight

Hello

Is there a way of disabling the selection effect or highlighting of the cutting edges when the trim command is used in standard mode? I didn't notice this before and it seems to have appeared, unless I had turned it off but it has now been separated in to a different setting? Thoughts very welcome.

Thanks

Forgive me, but I am not sure what your screenshot is showing.

Are you looking for TRIMEXTENDMODE variable (shows up as an option at the commandline when you start either TRIM or EXTEND command too)? Usage is explained in HELP.

Thanks for your response. It is showing the cutting edge highlighted. I think I have solved the highlighting, it's the selectioneffect command set to 1 rather than 0.

However SELECTIONEFFECT does keep resetting itself, I feel like I have to reset the selectioneffect variable every time I use LT. Any thoughts why this would happen? 👍

At the command line type OPTIONS. Choose the SELECTION tab and make sure the item ringed in the image below is not ticked. Be aware that this will not allow you to preview any action you will be making to an object.

.. you can also add SELECTIONEFFECT to your SYSVARMONITOR command watch list and have LT alert you when it changes (reset is easy from there too).

That variable is a registry edit: if you have problems with it holding, you might have a Windows registry problem.

Thanks. Yes, I might have to do that. I'm using Parallels on Mac OS and it resets very time I re-open Parallels and Autocad. I've added it to the sysvarmonitor but I will just have to live with it for now I guess... 👍

Oh no: have you tried asking in the Parallels User/Support forums about it yet https://www.parallels.com/support/
