Disable Autodesk Application Manager

Does anyone know how to disable/turn off an update that is not wanted/needed?

I have an update that is for German users, I am not German or nor do I speak/read it, is there a way to disable this update so it will stop popping up and telling me there is an update available. I feel so dumb, I feel its something simple but I am not finding an option or method to disable this update.

Thank You,

Anthony

Please go to the startmenu and type "msconfig".

In the dialogbox go to "Startup"

Find "Autodesk Application Manager" and clear it.

Hi, I have exactly the same issue as the OP... however i would prefer not to disable the Autodesk App completely! To add on to this solution, is there a way to remove or ignore this update?  I can not find any kind of way to do this within the app...  The update I was offered is "D-A-CH Object Enabler for AutoCAD 2017 and AutoCAD 2017 based products x64".  Trying to let it install, the installer is fully in what looks to be German so I have cancelled at that point.  I am running AutoCAD LT 2017, and any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi @Anonymous,

would this Article help? You get a full description how to handle the Application Manager.

Please ask, if you need more clarification.

Hi Sofia, thanks for your quick response... but unfortunately no it doesn't help with my question (or from what I am reading the OP's question either).

I have this update, that shows up in the Autodesk App manager, and also in my AutoCAD LT 2017 start screen.  It's pretty obviously not a correct update for my software or language (German), and there needs to be either a way to ignore it, remove it, or clear some kind of update cache that would allow me to have it check for updates again and maybe it would then find that this update is not required.

I don't see any way listed to do the above, and maybe the thing is to uninstall the App Manger, and reinstall and see what happens then?

Hi Jeremy,

actually you should have the possibility to ignore the update if you don't need it here: don't you?

Hello Sofia, I wish that were the case... I think your screenshot is from the Application manager, whereas the new interface from the Desktop App looks like my attached photo.  No ignore option is available, beyond that though... there is something buggy as to why it has offered me this update.  I have sent a support request through the official channels on this but haven't had any response yet.

Hi Jeremy,

good idea, opening a support request. I confess I started investigating, too, because you are not the only one... so, we need to dig deeper.

I am very sorry for the inconvenience Smiley Sad

Please hang on, I'll come back to you.

Thanks a lot for your participation.

An easy way is to disable the Autodesk desktop app services. This way the application cannot work. Another way I'm using is simply uninstall the Autodesk desktop app after installation (or remove from deployment if using admin deployment option).
