.dgn to .dwg

First post and kind of new to AutoCAD and could use a little assistance if possible, I am working for a client that wants me to change all there previous Microstation drawings to CAD, I did several of these a couple of months back on LT 2023 and now I have updated to LT 2024 I can no longer import the .dgn files to dwg format, The program freezes and is only able to be shut down through task manager.

I have one drawing in particular at the moment in .dgn format I could really use with updating and I have read a few posts and not really getting a definitive answer, reading about V7 & V8, but as I don't know anyone who uses microstation I am unable to convert the format.

Can Anyone point me in the right direction please?

Have you tried to XREF the DGN? If that is successful, try to bind it.

No issues here: perhaps your DGN is damaged or of a not-support format?
We are all using LT2024.1, the updated version, ABOUT command in the program will confirm if you have that or not.

You are welcome to share your DGN file here too, we all have many variants and versions of AutoCAD, or as a subscriber you also have access to LT2023-22-21-20 that you can install and confirm/find out.
You can also test your DGN online or through other apps to confirm it's validity
