When I open Autocad LT 2025 and click on new drawing.  I would like to change the default colors that dimensioning uses.  I've use the dimstyle command but it always reverts back to black defaults for dimension color.  Thanks for any help!

How are you using DIMSTYLE please? Color settings are in multiple places that you have to edit manually yourself first

OR... is AutoCAD/LT2025 just conflicting with your video card and you need to try some of these workaround fixes for now

1) Set GFXDX12 variable to 0 (that's a zero) then restart AutoCAD/LT: reverting to DirectX11 fixes similar problems for most users.

2) if still no relief then start GRAPHICSCONFIG command and change the 2D Display Settings pulldown from "advanced mode" to one of the other choices.

3) If all else fails, then turn off Hardware Acceleration as a last resort in the command noted in #2 above.

After I open AutoCAD. I click on the new tab to open a blank page. Then i have typed in dimstyle in the command prompt. Changed all the colors that I wanted. clicked on set as current. When I reopen AutoCAD It's all reverted back. The gfxdx12 didn't work.

Thanks,
Barry

When you open another file!

Sure.

Do this. Start a new file, create your own new, sensful named dimstyle.

Run SAVEAS, in file dialog - change the file extension to .dwt

Acad jumps to another folder

(Remember this path)

Save your own template(.dwt) file.

Start Command OPTIONS

First tab, search for file for QNEW, set your .dwt file.

Close Acad, test it again.

@barryR4JV8 Unless you make an effort to create and same a TEMPLATE file, and set it as your QNEW default, AutoCAD is always going to use what shipped with it instead.
pretty much like all software work, unique to you custom settings always need to be created and saved as template files.

Is that by chance where you are stumbling? You skipped the entire set-up-just-for-you needs?

Creating TEMPLATES is easy, here are a couple of tutorials

Thanks for the help!  I think I get it now.  Have to make my own template and have AutoCAD look for it upon clicking the new tab!

@barryR4JV8 Do you have your dimensions automatically put on a dimensions layer? If so why not change the colour of that layer
