Cannot paste properly into a particular file

 I am recently working on consolidating a drawing with blocks/drawings from multiple sources. I have run into the following problems which seem file-specific and need help to resolve them.

(1) Random crosshairs (circles with crosses) appearing on objects after I put them into the consolidated drawing. When I perform certain operations like MOVE or cut/paste, the crosshairs enlarge or become smaller. These crosshairs are actual objects which I can delete but they are never supposed to be there in the first place. REGENALL also reduces the size of the crosshair to a small size.

(2) Cannot paste blocks/items properly. Only part of what I copied from another drawing would be pasted successfully. I tried pasting the same thing into a new document and it works perfectly.

Things I've tried:

- AUDIT

- REGENALL

- PURGE

I read something about restoring the system variables but I have not been able to get the steps for that so I am not sure if that will help.

The first 'crosshairs' you are talking about sound like 'points' to me. You say you can select and delete them. What type of object is it when selected (see properties).

Try changing the PDMODE value

You may try an AECTOACAD for the 'destination' drawing for the copy/paste error.

It's kind of hard to say about both. Screenshots or attachments like the DWG could help us to help.

Are you still having problems with the one file? Is it possible to attach it to a post or send to me (private) at [email protected]?

I would suggest rebuilding it by moving it into a new file.
