block is scaled when inserting it in a new Layout

Hello to all of you,

I have a block which was created to be used as a title block, also only for layout. The block contains lines, text, attributes and two images.

When I try to insert the block in my drawing, only the lines are unexpectedly scaled up to x25. The image stays at its original size, as well as the attributes. I am trying to copy from Layout to Layout, also units are the same, milimeters.

I have also tried to import the layout through the Design Center, but it comes exactly to the same problem.

If it helps, If I explode the block and try to copy its original content from one file to the other, it is the right size. What might be happenning? Has someone any idea that could help me?

I have searched for articles, I found these: https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Blocks...

But it didn´t work. All units are exactly the same on both drawings.

Thank you very much in advance! Any help will be gladly appreciated.

Best regards

>>>...scaled up to x25...<<<
1 inch = 25.4mm

Looks like you picked up a titleblock not set to mm, or you are in a drawing that is not mm: find out, follow the problems using -DWGUNITS command (there is a dash in the command name) in both files to find out which one is out of sorts.

Question though: why is your titleblock not just XREFed into layouts and left to be a separate DWG file in the project folder? Or do you only issue single unique sheets for work and not a set of sheets/layouts per project?

Hello pendean,

thank you very much for your reply. I have checked with -dwgunits command and both drawings have exactly the same units. Although in Model one is in Centimeters and the other in meters, I am working right now in Layout, so that should not be a problem, as both are in milimeters. We have never drawed in inches, but it is really supiscious to be the problem. Is there any other way I can check if somewhere inches were set up?

We use a unique single sheet for the title block to work, that we use in every project. We only change the attributes as needed.

Thanks

Both are set in milimeters (4). I think it makes no sense the title block rescale itself. We have remade the titleblock and now it does not rescale up to 25 times, but 10 times. But units are still the same. 😕

Unfortunately, I am not allowed to share files from the company. Is there any other way?

10x means you now have a mm/cm issue: however you got it to stop scaling 25.4times is what you need to do to fix it.
