Running AutoCAD lt 2017  Program screen starts up and has a black drawing screen that will not show anything including my mouse pointer. The toolbars on the outside of the drawing screen seem to work and can use my mouse but it disappears on the drawing screen? Help! I am using a HP Pavilion x360 with Windows 10.  Used the software yesterday and it was fine. Today it doesnt work

Turn off and restart your laptop yet?
Is this black screen on an external monitor, or on the laptop display?

Try to start LT2017 as described here and see if your issue goes away https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Starti...

Hi, Thank you. This worked perfectly with a minor change

Solution:

  1. Right-click the AutoCAD-based product icon on either the desktop or the Start menu and click Properties.
  2. In the Properties dialog box, click the Shortcut tab.
  3. In the Target field, edit the content to have the /nohardware switch at the end. For example:
    "C:\Program Files\AutoCAD 2015\acad.exe" /nohardware

Note: its not at the end of the line. It has to be exactly after acad.exe"

Note 2: there has to be an space between "  and /   its there, but I didnt notice it at first

      4. Click OK.

Hope this helps someone else.
