AutoCAD LT vs AutoCAD

Hello, I am trying to decide between AutoCAD LT and AutoCAD. Below are my questions. Greatly appreciate any help you can provide.

(1) Does AutoCAD LT run slower than AutoCAD?

(2) When you save an AutoCAD LT file is it the same format/file type as AutoCAD? Can someone with AutoCAD open an LT version and vice versa?

(3) If I choose LT but don't like it, can I upgrade my subscription to regular AutoCAD? If so, is it just the cost difference?

(4) Will AutoCAD LT have all the features/abilities I need. I work in residential interior design. My main uses are creating space plans and using layers, dimensions, leaders, blocks, etc. I print to PDF in model view and make construction documents in layout. I don't do any 3D work. That about sums it up.

ad 1) no, only in some specific operations (e.g. layout switching)

ad 2) yes

ad 3) no, that's what trial versions are for

ad 4) it depends, from what you describes, it should but without any automation or add-ons you might need later

Upgrading is always an option. You will have to pay for it and possibly full price but you can still upgrade.

Thank you!! I may download LT today before the work week, and want to double check a few things first in case I need to give myself more time to explore it before I need it for work... Does LT have the same look/layout as AutoCAD or will it take some getting used to? And does it include all the same options under Draw, Modify, Annotation, etc.? Does it let you restrict cursor to specified angles or orthogonally? And snap to reference points? Thanks again!

@brandyespinosa What version of AutoCAD are you using now or used last? Judging by your follow-up questions I suspect you are coming from some old version like AutoCAD2005 in which case your leap to AutoCAD or LT2023 is going to look a tad different and if you are solely a hunt-and-click button pusher and don't really know AutoCAD you may struggle a bit at the start.

Then there is nothing to worry about, your questions are 100% answered by just looking on the web for available info/images and running the latest in a trial mode to test.
