AutoCAD LT View port in Layout gets altered

Hi All Me again - always with a problem

Currently using AutoCAD LT 2016 - And noticed that it seems to automatically altering the view port size in the template layout  - the view port  window scales up and out of the template frame - at first I thought i was accidentally altering the view port window as mistakes do happen without your knowledge, but this  happened too many times and now I am certain its has nothing to do with me. so what could it be ?

Hi Frank,

Is this for new layouts, or existing layouts? If existing, are you changing the sheet size in the Page Setup?

Do you just need to LOCK the viewport and lock or freeze the layer the viewport outline is drawn on?
