AutoCAD LT Hangs When Selecting Plotter From Dropdown Menu

Hey All,

Having a real tough time with this one and hoping you can help. I work for an MSP company and support a client that uses AutoCAD LT 2022 (latest update). Whenever he, or several of his colleagues goes to print their drawings, it will freeze once they select the Epson SC-T5200D network printer from the dropdown menu.

I installed the AutoCAD LT specific drivers from EPSON's support page--still causes the printer to freeze.

To clarify, this is not an issue with the user's hardware, printing, or printer. This seems to be isolated specifically when they select the option within the AutoCAD print menu. *See following pics*

I have also tried disabling/enabling "background plot"--no luck.

Does this happen with all other drivers? Then it is a program problem.
Just this one driver? More often than not long painful pauses (or lock-ups) like that usually means the driver (or PC3 file) you selected is a challenge for the program and OS to find and use.

Is the device access timing out?
Is this a remote access situation?

Hi @pendean

Thanks for the reply. Yes, this happens with any driver but not every printer they have on their network (not sure if that helps to note). For example, they can switch to a run-of-the-mill HP OfficeJet and no freeze, but if they switch back to the Epson plotter, it freezes every time.

Do you know how I can fix the PC3 file being difficult to find?

Is the device access timing out?

-No
Is this a remote access situation?

-Can you clarify what you mean? I remote in to support the users.

@jbarrBG83N I was just asking if the users are accessing the plotter through VPN or other remote situation.

PC3 files are not fixable: throw away and create/start with new ones is always the best solution.

Looks like you tried some of this link's solution, try the others as well https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/plotti...

Test this theory/solution out as wellhttps://www.landfx.com/kb/autocad-fxcad/plotting-images/item/4243-lock.html

Let us know what you tried and tested.
