AutoCAD LT 2019 DXF issues with Cabinet Maker Ver12

I have a buddy running AutoCAD LT version 2019 for the purpose of opening DWG files and saving them as DXF files to import into his Cabinet Maker version 12 software.  I do this for him and I am running Full AutoCAD 2019 and save it down to 2007 DXF and my files import fine.  However, when he does the same process in his LT version, the Cabinet Maker software will not even recognize it.  Is there something with LT that prevents this from working or a setting I need to check?  TIA!

Normally not a problem, so long the content is pure AutoCAD content.

The only different i thought is not a LT questions, but system settings: Check SAVEFIDELITY on both systems.

If you like:

Take one of these file, open it, use SAVEAS dxf2007,

your buddy should do exaclty the same, just open and saveas..

Upload DWG(or DXF - whatever the source file is) and BOTH saveas-DXF files.

We can see what the problem is.

I'm not familiar with 'cabinetmaker' but there should be no difference between full AutoCAD and LT when it comes to using 'saveas' and choosing .dxf or using the 'dxfout' command. It might well be a problem with the geometry types, where do these dwg files come from (which program).

Can you post a copy of a simple example of the two .dxf files created from the same source but one created by you in full AutoCAD and one from your buddy created in AutoCAD 2019 LT

The files come from multiple sources, either engineering firms or architects.  We did determine on one DXF file that there were ellipse lines to show arcs, but that did not affect if cabinet maker would recognize the file.  

On a few of the files we did the same steps on both full cad and LT, and cabinet maker would not even recognize the file, so there is nothing to show.

SAVEFIDELITY is set at "1" on each system.

We did save the same file as 2007 DXF and Cabinet Vision can see the file saved with Full, but doesn't even allow an import on the LT file.

My last hint: Compare the version, Command: ABOUT tell you what the productversion is.

2019.1.2 is current (Full and LT cersion)

As @cadffm  says we don't need to see what Cabinetmaker sees or doesn't see. But if you could supply an example preferably a .dwg source file and then the two versions of .dxf files produced by your full AutoCAD and your buddies LT. Then it should be easy to figure out what is happening. We can compare the two .dxf files and figure out where the problem is occurring. Yes, ellipses do pose problems for programs that read .dxf but ellipses are treated by both versions of AutoCAD in exactly the same way, so that is unlikely to be the problem (possible but unlikely) unless of course, you are doing some kind of editing on the .dwg files before saving them to .dxf in which case you might want to look at this page about ellipses and plines.

Thanks everyone.  Here are three files.  The original CAD file, the same named DXF from Full CAD and the LT DXF, each DXF saved in 2007.

For some reason I cant attached all three files, so is the main DWG.

Who makes that cabinet software?
By chance did you in 2007 send him much older DXF files? I would suggest you try R12DXF file format, and yes, turn off filefidelity before that.

I can see no reason both those .dxf files shouldn't open in another software, they both open exactly the same in AutoCAD LT and in a free .dxf viewer. There is a slight difference in size between the two files, but other than that no difference in geometry. I have to say the drawings are a mess, do you really need thousands of layer filters for just 27 layers. Removing the layer filters reduces the file size down to nearly a 1/4 of the original size. And why are most arcs made up of so many short lines, surely Cabinet Maker can work with arcs. Does the Cabinet Maker software give you an error message or some sort of indication of what it thinks is a problem?

@steven-g you asked the OP to explode all of their blocks, so... they did.

@david_ballinger have you tried the R12DXF file format test yet? Also, the advice to explode your blocks is probably not helping wih your issues, but your DWG file sure needed cleaning up. See attached cleaner and smaller DWG file.

@pendean HeHe, that was another unrelated topic, and as I noted earlier the file size and content probably isn't helping. But in theory, at least that wouldn't make the difference why a file saved to .dxf from full AutoCAD works and saved from LT doesn't.

Guys, sorry for the delay in responding.  Nothing was exploded on these drawings prior to saving as DXF, so my guess is saving to DXF did that?

I have not tried the R12 DXF option yet but can try that and report back.

Let me see if I can explain this better.  I was provided a bad name before so the software is Cabinet Vision Ver 12.  I have asked to reach out to them for support but apparently they suck. 

- The steps to import are to pick the file type to import (DXF)

- Select the file (Shows in the list)

- Then click import button and the file is imported and shown.

When we do these steps with the LT file it wont allow us to click the import button.  Nothing happens when you do.

My guess its a Cabinet Vision problem but it doesn't like something about the file.

No, saving to .dxf won't explode anything the original file you showed us is already broken up into many small parts. What is more concerning is the file size and the many layer filters. Try the dwg file that @pendean posted just before. This is a lot smaller, see if it still has the same problems when you use LT to save it as .dxf and import into Cabinet Vision. It might just need you to 'tidy' up drawings before exporting to .dxf. But if you still have errors then post the resulting .dxf files again (full and LT .dxf versions) it will be easier to look for problems in the smaller files.

But it does look like this is a problem with the Cabinet Vision software.

Then APPLY and OK out of the pop-up.
