AutoCAD LT 2018 Application has detected mix version of AEC objects

I saved as AutoCAD LT 2018 drawing to version 2000, and then opened in 2016 AutoCAD LT.

The file could be opened with no problem, however, when I copied and pasted some block objects, it prompted an error message"Application has detected mix version of AEC objects"

I use command "exporttoautocad", then select version 2000, then it works fine in 2016 AutoCAD LT.

Is that something wrong with AutoCAD LT 2018?

Nope, that is by design: when a DWG format changes, all AEC content in the file gets upgraded and basically messes with the file for all lower versions that then open the file.

Like you did in LT2016, you do the same in LT2018 (aka "exporttoautocad"). SAVEAS is not good enough.

Why are you saving all the way down to version 2000 in both LT2016 and LT2018? Curious more than anything.

It's the default setting in the machine.

And some of the customers use old version AutoCAD, then 2000 version can suit for everyone.

Does using EXPORTTOAUTOCAD help?

Yes, exporttoautocad can help in this case, however, if I use save as 2000, then it will prompt mix version AEC object error.

SAVEAS command does not address AEC Objects.
EXPORTTOAUTOCAD does address AEC objects.

You get to decide which is more important, make a choice/decision, and enjoy the benefit you decided to use.

I am having this same issue. Using autocad LT. Just renewed our subscription and have been getting the "mixed AEC object" error message everytine I try to copy and paste something.

Only have the option to save as 2013.

When I try exporttoautocad I get the message:

"Command not allowed because drawing contains objects from a newer version of this application"

Any ideas?

in LT2018 this is by design if your file format is not kept at the 2018-dwg format level. Is that the problem perhaps?

otherwise post the DWG file, let's all have a look.

Thanks. I realized the drawings I was having trouble with were opening in
2017. When I open them in 2018 there is no issue.
I simply uninstalled the 2017 version and everything is working great now.
