AutoCAD & AutoCAD LT 2021 Compatibility

I Have subscription AutoCAD LT 2021. I have someone that wants to share a standard AutoCAD file. In other words, is the .dwg formats compatible....more importantly, Will I be able to open it and USE it?? Thank you, G

.dwg's are always backwards compatible, it is older versions that cannot open the newer files, but someone with a newer version can always save 'back' to an older version if they need to cooperate with others. So you might need to make sure you save back to an earlier version is this is the case.
