Autocad 2000 to Autocad LT 2012 differences in commands

Hello all,

Does anyone know where I could find the .pgp file for autocad 2000 edition?  My boss has finally thrown in the towl and is upgrading to autocad lt after spending his entire "autocad life" on the 2000 version.  He is very intimidated by the switch, however,  I assured him that I could set it up so that commands and typical workflow will have little or no change.

I am looking to find his .pgp file/ command alias so that I can compare the two versions, then change the keyboard shortcuts for those that differ.  Does the 2000 version even have a command alias list?

Eventually he will realize how much more powerful the newer versions are, but I dont want him to jump ship on on the switch before he gets to that point.

Any help or advice to make this a smooth transition would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you so much in advance.

Matt

All AutoCAD versions have a PGP file. This tip shows you how to get to it from inside the program http://themadcadder.blogs.com/my_weblog/2006/09/where_is_the_ac.html

Is the process the same for even the 2000 version? I have made several changes to my command alias', however, when looking in his 2000 version, I could not find it.

please advise..

Since this is AutoCAD 2000, full, start that program, and at the commandline type this exactly as shown then hit <enter> and the program will tell you where to look (this tip does not work for LT):

(findfile "acad.pgp")

Remember, LT does not contain all of R2000's commands, and LT2012 has newer commands that did not exist in AutoCAD2000 either. Hope you are bundling some training along with the CAD shift.
