What is the best manual for 2018 Lt. I have used LT 98 for years and was very simple to use. The same functions in 2018 Lt are far more involved. For what I do, I do not require a lot of the functions.
Thanks,
Rowland

Give those new functions a go. You might be surprised!

Unfortunately, the options are there, the good news is that once you have figured out how to set it up then you can save the settings into your template and not have to worry about them again. If you post a dwg showing exactly what you are trying to achieve, with a few different examples and a description of what it should (and should not) do then I'm pretty sure someone will be able to point you in the right direction.
Are you using LEADER or MLEADER command? Or are you just drawing lines and plines? Find out.
MLEADER command settings are in MLEADERSTYLE command, did you edit and change all nine steps are shown here yet?
I used to own a Triumph Herald (car) the hood opened to the front and you could get at everything. I stripped and nearly rebuilt that car. Try that today, you can't even change a headlight bulb without being a contortionist or having specialist tools. LT98 is 20 years old.
Open the multileader style manager, from the menu it's in the format tab, on the ribbon you'll find it on the annotate tab and then the leaders panel
Create a new style, will open the modify style dialogue, goto the second tab "Leader structure" and change the maximum leader points to a higher number than yo will ever need for segments. Untick the option for a landing. You might also want to change the arrow size in the "Leader format" tab. Click OK then close. Save the file as your template. And you will be good for the next 20 years (or at least till next year when you renew your subscription)
Once done click on your leader icon and you can place points anywhere you want with the left mouse button and finish with the right mouse which will then let you enter your text. It does automatically open the text editor with a flashing cursor for you to enter text, but if you don't want any text just left click with the mouse somewhere away from the text box or hit escape.
HI @Anonymous,
You have a lot of help going on in this thread. I can imagine that the shift from such an old version to the current version is challenging to say the least.
I have attached a Preview Guide to show you what has changed in the current version.
You might find videos on Youtube that will help and you might also consider Lynda.com.
If you have specific questions like the leader one, I suggest that you create a new thread for it so you will get quicker and more specific help.
Have you gotten the Leader to work properly?

That is true but it seems that some wizards need to reinvent the wheel, I will struggle on and figure a way around the problem.
There is big difference between the wooden wagon wheel made to travel at 5 miles an hour, and the tubeless tire wheels used by a Porsche for speed, or a F150 for load. At some point, wagon wheels no longer work on our roads, for our speeds, and for our loads.
I've been using AC since version 10 in 1989. Over the years, most improvements, have been improvements. The people here are also very helpful, and courteous requests always get good response.
Thanks, I just received my Mastering AutoCAD 2018 and AutoCAD LT 2018. I have not had a chance to look at it, but will tonight. I think it might help.
thanks,
Rowland
Thanks for the detailed reply, I will try it tomorrow. I have another question, is it possible to make up a panel with tools from other panels. I would like to make a panel with tools that use frequently.
Thanks, Rowland
