What is making you think that AutoCAD is not using the NVIDIA display adapter? Please include error messages, screen shots, a screencast, and anything else that helps us.

Things to try, then you need to contact Dell Support for help:

1) Make sure the power option is set to performance (click on the battery icon on the system tray that is on the bottom right corner of the screen) and also make sure your laptop is plugged in.

2) More things from Autodesk o try https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/AutoCA...

3) Explore this about only getting drivers from Dell, no Nvidia https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/1069062/games-do-not-recognize-gtx-1060-on-dell-g7-15/?offs...

i habe already contacted dell for the same. They don't have a viable solution for the same. They disable the intel driver and forced the laptop and auto cad to run on nvidia. but then my display didnt switch to nvidia it started displaying with microsoft basic display driver, hence the display was very dark. they asked me to contact auto cad for the same.

Did you get a chance to try the three items I listed in my last reply yet?

FWIW no one here is "autodesk": if you want support log into your Accounts page then start a ticket https://autodesk.secure.force.com/Customer/apex/Case_CustomerPortalLandingPage

Hi @Anonymous, In addition to the great suggestions and linked articles I am curious it you have external displays. If so, can you remove them and then see if you can get the Nvidia to appear in AutoCAD?

yes, i have tried all the 3 methods. None of them worked. Cause i have updated all the drivers from dell and i can't disable the intel driver as per one of the solution as my display works with that only.

Hello Sir,

no i don't have any external displays. I just have the laptop screen to work with which works with only intel driver not nvidia so i'm not able to disable that without sacrificing the quality of my display.

How did Dell support disable the Intel card for you? or did they turn it back on? LT is using it, so it is not off, so turning it off as noted in the article is one thing to try if you are up to the task.

They disabled it from the device manager tab and once they uninstalled it. at that time the CAD used Nvidia but the problem with this solution was that my display was using basic microsoft adapter and not nvidia as my intel driver was uninstalled or disabled.

Hi @Anonymous,

I have seen quite a few issues with the GTX 1050 and 1060 cards.  Neither of these cards are certified for AutoCAD.  I have found that some customers actually have better luck in using drivers that are a couple versions old. You might roll back your drivers to see if an older version helps.
