Attribute text mirror issue

I have a block of a floor plan with the room names as attributes. Whenever I mirror the block the attribute mirrors. Mirrtext is 0. Constant, preset and lock are all N. I can't get the attribute text to stay readable when the block is mirrored.

Issue:

When you mirrored a block containing text, the text was mirrored even though the MIRRTEXT system variable was set to 0.

Causes:

The MIRRTEXT system variable affects text that is created with the TEXT, DTEXT, ATTDEF, or MTEXT commands. Text and constant attributes within an inserted block are mirrored as a consequence of mirroring the entire block.

Solution:

To work around this, include your text in the block as an attribute instead of as text. To prevent the attribute text from being mirrored, verify that in the Attribute Definition (ATTDEF) dialog box, under the Mode section, the Constant option is not selected. This option is also available on the Properties palette under Misc.

If MIRRTEXT is set to 0 and an attribute within a block in not Constant, the attribute text will not be mirrored when the block is mirrored.

Is that the block named ROOM NAME & AREA? It mirrors just find here, attributes are always right-side up.

But your entire floor plan is a block, and if you are trying to mirror your floor plan as a block these will not automagically mirror: you have to explode your house block first. Blocks within blocks don't behave the way you want.

So I am right in saying there is no way to get of any sort of text to mirror and stay readable in a block unless it is made dynamic with flip options?

I ended up just mirroring everything back individually.

Thanks though

I have two files with the same settings - Mirrtext 0 and the attdefs don't have the constant on, in one file the attdef in the block mirrors, in the other it stays as it should. What other settings may affect it? I also have the layer 0 unlocked when mirroring.... Thanks in advance!
