Arrays not exporting as .DXF file

So i have recently had major issues when producing arrays using the ARRAY functions from the ribbon. 

When it came to exporting as a .DXF file, then loading in any other NON-AUTODESK software, the arrays were non-existent. This has meant that our water jet cutter has been stopped from manufacturing one of our products (perforated sheets.) as our water jet machine was loading blank files. 

The only work around - after a lot of hours spent trying to figure it out - is to use the ARRAYCLASSIC command. 

THIS IS A VERY ANNOYING BUG AND SHOULD BE FIXED ASAP.

You are wrong and you have to learn about what you do before you scream to a person, a company or a software product.

BTW: You can explode an ARRAY OBJECT

Classicarray command is nothing more than a special COPY command,

the newer array command creates a new object - an object type "ARRAY".

It's not an AutoDESK problem if the machine DXF interface is not working correct and can not handle arrays.

(such a interface should work this way: Open only these formats which the software can understand - with all possible content)

The ARRAY object exists, but the machine software ignores the object.
This is a machine / software limitation and is not uncommon.

Somewhere in the documentation you will find a list of the supported object types (if good documentation exists),
for example, SPLINE is often ignored, etc.

This has nothing to do with AutoDESK or the file, only with the program of your machine.
You have to abide by the limitations of the machine / software when creating, nobody else.

And another hint:

In pre dwg2013 formats, ARRAYs are unknown, so save the file as DXF2010 and the machine can read the data,

because the are saved like exploded or like created by arrayclassic

Nothing to fix, you just did not know the difference between ARRAY and CLASSICARRAY commands (and why they both still exist for you to use). Now you do hopefully. If you'd like a recap, post back..

BTW Autodesk owns the DXF file format, they decide how it works, other software vendors need to catch up (aka pay Autodesk) or advise you what they can and cannot import. They might not know either, so reach out to them and ask/notify.

I honestly am not sure if this is true or not. 

Our machine has accepted the standard ARRAY created from the functions located on the RIBBON panel before this leading me to assume this is a more recent issue. 

It is also not only the machine that is reading them as blank files. 

TurboCAD Pro also doesn't recognize them. 

However both the WJ Machine & Turbo cad had no problems opening the files made using the ARRAYCLASSIC command. 

What is the difference between the two commands (ARRAY & ARRAYCLASSIC) 

Do they both output different linetypes.. because there are NO options to change this if this is the case. 

This IS an ACAD issue. As i mentioned. The ribbon panel HAS produced usable files before however no longer does. 

Leading me to believe that this is a BUG with AutoCAD.

SIDE NOTE: I Dont use TurboCAD for anything other than checking the compatibility before sending to our water jet machine in our factory.

Perhaps you saved the files in an older DXF format? (see may answer above)

Perhaps TurboCAD have a similar problem (Turbocad uses also not a native DXF interface, it's just a try to copy the file format from Autodesk)

Short: The one copies objects and the other one create one object of a new type, it's like a BLOCK

What are linetypes to do with the topic? Array ot classic array, both will not change the linetypes

No it isn't so long you can open the files in your AutoDESK product without a problem.

Feel free to upload a sample and we can check the content.

Leading me to believe that this is a BUG with AutoCAD. 

All what you wrote make sense and i can not read about an issue,

so long i am right you saved the files as an dxf2010 or older format in the past.

I'm new about Autocad - and have to say i have no idea how it works. 

However - we do also have a Water Jet machine, and i have the same problem. 

I googled it and ended up here. I have tried to download the template as a dwg file and loaded it up in Igems ( the machine software).  I also tried to download as Autocad 2010 - but the array is still not found. or - i can see it, but i can't do anything with it other than delete all of them. 

What am i doing wrong? the lines and circles "drawed manually" seems perfectly fine..
