Array command creates individual entities?

Something has changed in my settings when I create arrays, and I'm not sure what happened. When I go to create an array from any object what is happening is the created array is just treated as discrete objects once the command finishes. It used to leave it as an array object that would bring up the array creation ribbon if I selected it later on, allowing me to modify the array however I wanted and move the array around the screen as a group just by clicking the base point. Furthermore, it's not specific to any one document, it's doing it on new documents and even when I choose to create new documents from tutorial templates. How do I change it back?

Arrayassociativity was set to zero, I set it to one like you suggested and that did the trick! Much appreciated!
