Archstyl font not displaying fractions, etc

Bought a new computer and installed archstyl.shx font on it.  When I open a drawing, the special keys don't show their assigned values: for example the "\" key doesn't display as "1/2" like it used to.  Any ideas?

Did you put it in the same folder as the rest of your .shx fonts?

Yes, same folder.  All of the letters and numbers appear correctly, but none of the fractions, or diameter symbol, or plate symbol appear as they did last week - on the previous computer.  They are just represented by the marks on the keys.

How did you 'assign' the keys before? Otherwise what you see on the keyboard is what you get. Or do you mean something else?

Maybe you need the .ttf version?

That very old 1986 custom SHX font have unique codes for fractions, are you using the correct ones? Doesn't appear to be so

Steven-

I've never had to assign the keys before - I guess that's where I need to start(?)

(In the past 21 years, I've had to get a new computer maybe 4 times.  I just installed the font, and everything would work fine - except this time.)

Rob-

I can't find a ttf version online - any locations that you know of?

This is a list of some of the key assignments that I've used since probably '95 with archstyl:

\ = 1/2

> = diameter

[ = 3/4

] = 7/8

| = 1/4

{ = 3/8

} = 5/8

_ = 1/8

Are you sure your font is loaded? Find out, there should be not yellow exclamation tag (or "missing" tab) on it in STYLE command.

Otherwise I suspect there is something else that needs to be in place/at play/turned on/button pressed perhaps for you to be able to do that with this SHX font. Sorry, I have it and testing in AutoCADLT 2018-19-20-21 your shortcuts do not give me those fractions.

It works here in LT 2021, the shx file is located at

C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\AutoCAD LT 2021\R27\enu\Support

Most work I get the fractions just fine, the one that doesn't work is > = diameter (I get PL property line?)

I put the font in that location, restarted the computer, and still not working.

(You are correct: ">" symbol is for PL, which stands for "plate". )

I removed the archstyl font, then found a new one online, re-installed it at the location Steven gave - now all works fine.

Thanks everyone for the help.
