Is there any way possible to have an angular dimension to denote an angle of greater than 180degrees?

Are you using DIMANGULAR command? What the command line, you get an extra choice calle SPECIFY VERTEX, pick the angle vertex and follow the prompts to specify the other two points

yes, i am using DIMANGULAR.

command line reads  :select arc, circle, line or <specify vertex>

specify vertex is all lower case and i'm not sure how to select it.

When presented with a single command suboption like that, there is nothing to type: simply hit <enter> to activate.
