Advise for someone new to CAD

As the subject says I am new to the world of CAD.  Most of my experience has been with Visio.  I work for a construction company and I put all of the submittals and everything together for our projects. We had a copy of AutoCAD LT 2013 laying around so I have installed that on my desktop and have been messing around with it a little bit. Most of everything that I have done with CAD thus far is making blocks up and inserting them into a Visio drawing.  I really would like to learn how to use CAD but dont really know if there are any resources out there to help me learn how to get started with CAD.  Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks in advance.

(Note that AutoCAD LT is less capable than AutoCAD, so some of that may not apply or apply differently.)

There are some good books for self paced learning at amazon.com, as are many not-so-free self-paced tutorials on the web at sites like Lynda.com

And Youtube is a wealth of free videos on many specific topics if you et stuck somewhere.
