3D Walls Showing as Black: unable to change properties

We draw using 3D walls: a relic from AutoCad Architecture. These have always been workable in LT with much reduced capabilities than I remember from Auto Cad Architecture. Unfortunately the recent 2021 LT update renders the 3D walls with a black fill. This is affecting any walls that intersect with another wall or have a dynamic door inserted.

I seem unable to change the fill of the walls. Does anyone have any advice?

Strange, it appears to be how 2021 is seeing the color white, but inconsistently. If you explode the walls down to component parts they contain a solid hatch color 255,255,255. And with your light background AutoCAD 2021 is coloring this black (but only certain parts as you say where walls cross)? This isn't an issue in 2020. The drawing behaves with a dark background.

You are right - the drawing seem OK with a black background... but unfortunately when I PDF the drawing the black is back!!

Unfortunately, I don't know what to suggest. LT cannot edit these AEC walls. It would be an idea to report this to Autodesk at the feedback pages as it does look possibly like an error that needs looking at in a future update (though it is possible that a system variable has changed somewhere).

Additional information: In Architecture2021 it is also displayed in black.

There was such a problem in 2019 or 2020, apparently it is present again.

(Note: I am not an Architecture-User, so i don't know about possible settings, but it looks like a bug)

It might be time to either move back to AutoCADARCH or give those "walls" up and stick with core LT commands and features, until Autodesk either issues a patch that specifically address it or assume they are doing it purposefully to force you to upgrade.

Autodesk feedback is done here https://www.autodesk.com/company/contact-us/product-feedback

Thanks for your quick reply @steven-g & @cadffm .

I have worked with AutoCad for over 18 years and have never posted on a forum.

AMAZING! I will now go to the Feedback pages and see where that takes me.

I see we may have to revert back to v.2020 for now! gggr!!

I think I am experiencing this since reinstalling AutoCAD LT 2025. The 2x4 section of my walls (the DWG was created in ACA) But I've been editing drawings in AutoCAD LT. The walls appeared in LT as they should and did in ACA. Now, after the reinstall, the walls are blacked out.

@ahthelife Both you and the ACA user need to ensure you have all three of the PROXY variables turned on when saving those DQG files, HELP explains them. Start there.

I figured it out. I was missing the hath for the 2x4 area of my wall and so AutoCAD LT was substituting a solid hatch.
