11 x 17

I have a small landscape design business on the side and the last of my old Canon printers (I bought three at a close out) capable of producing 11 x 17 B&W prints is finally giving up the ghost. Can anyone suggest a good replacement. When I go to the neighborhood computer/electronics store all they want to talke about is photographic prints and get glassy eyed whin I mention CAD capability.

Inkjet or laser?
How much do you want to spend?

I have an HP9800 works just fine for 11x17's. It is an inkjet, so it is kinda slow and ink is $. But it was only $299.

If you don't frown on using used equipment, I would jump on craigslist. I found an ancient LaserJet 4V for $50, with a mostly full toner cartridge. The drivers function fine with all my programs including ACad, and replacement toner cartridges are available.

After meeting the guy and talking to him (another small Engineer), he gave me the printer because it was troublesome. It had a slightly tweaked piece that would occasionally snag sheets and crumple them. Easy fix. I have three lasers: 2600n, 2100, 4V that I got for a total of less than $150 on craigslist.
