XREFS Scaling

Anonymous
Not applicable

I'm trying to attach an xref that has a basketball court in it, and I know that the dimensions for a b-ball court are 50x94' (or something similar). When I attach the xref to my drawing and the scale of the xref is set to one, the basketball court measures 7200x13536, either feet or inches because I'm not sure because somehow I turned off units. How do I get the xref to land in my drawing at the correct scale without having to scale the xref?

You open the xref drawng and use the command

-DWGUNITS   and change it in there.

When I try that in the xref drawing, it changes the one side of the basketball court from 50' to 600', and now that's what it equals in my drawing. Now how do I change both to the correct measurement?

50 x 12 = 600

But what command do I use? to change the size? I'm not familiar with the -DWGUNITS command, and I'm not sure that I used it properly.

Set -dwgunits for the xref and your drawing to inches. You should also check both are set to architectural in units. Both should now measure in feet and inches.

change -DWGUNITS to FEET in your drawing or Scale your xref by .08333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333334

The second option is the one I'm trying to avoid: my boss is saying that the scale should be 1. I'll try the first option.

Accepted solution
When I use the command UNITS and set to Architectural, that fixed the problem.
