Xref shows a lot of circles

Dear all, 

I am having a problem with the xref files I am working with. 

I often use files draw in meters as xref for my work. But my drawing are usually centimeters. The scale is not a problem, AutoCAD sorts it out itself. The problem is every point in the xref file became a circle after inserted.  

So, sometime I delete all the points manually.  Even the points in blocs has to be deleted one by one. 

And when I can't find those points, it gets a bit too frustrating. 

Can someone please tell me why the points became circles, and how to solve them. Many Thanks!!

I suggest to change the point style from DDPTYPE command.if not resolved.. please attache the CAD drawing to take a look.

I changed the style on 0 and 2, it didn't change anything. Here is the xref file.

FYI: Those "DD" commands were deprecated years ago. They only work today because they can still be defined in the PGP file. But if you are using a custom PGP file, it's likely to NOT work, like this:

Command: ddptype
Unknown command "DDPTYPE". Press F1 for help.

The actual command name is PTYPE, or you can adjust the system variables PDMODE and PDSIZE.

@Anonymous - I've opened your drawing and inserted it into a new empty drawing as a an Xref. I do not get the circles. Can you also supply the parent drawing you are using also? Thanks.

Your drawing has problems but the large circles aren't the worst of them.  You have two copies of your plan with different items in them.  The copy that contains the large circles is close to the origin but almost all of the layers are frozen.  Another copy of the plan is 640 kilometers to the east of the origin.  It contains the hatch and some other items.  There are no points in your drawing.  Just large circles.

I have created two viewports to illustrate the problems. Don't use my copy in case I added anything (I don't think I did but best to be safe).  Your blocks exhibit very strange behavior when inserted that might be related to an undiscovered bug in AutoCAD as describe below.

If a block is unitless and if the drawing units are set to meters, the insert command assumes the unitless block is in millimeters and scales it down by a factor of 1000.  I would suggest changing your block's units in bedit to meters if that is what you want to use or change them to whatever units you drew them in  and stop using unitless blocks.

The drawings are from other companies , so I don't really know what did they do for the blocks and layers. 

I am doing my intership in a tiny company specialised in OPC( Ordonnance, pilotage, coordination, something French). So I have to work with drawing from different companies. We use them to do a plan of arrangement of the working site or define different phases of the construction. 

If it's caused by the units, that will be a bit frustrating too. I don't really want to change their blocks units everytime I got a new drawing. And this happnes all the time.

Oh, and about the part of the drawing whick is so far away, it's what I singled out. Because I only need some kind of back ground for my work, so I froze some details and move the part that I want to 0, Sorry for the mess I created. lol

Thanks for the response. I'm glad I was able to help.  Where are you located in France?  My wife and I would like to visit France but I haven't spoken French since 9th grade and my teacher had a strong Southern accent.  Is mispronounced French or English the better way to communicate without offending?

Hahaha, don't worry, people speak english in touristic places. You only need to know to say Bonjour all the time, that will be enough.

How did you split the screen like that?

In the model tab, there is a viewport configuration menu at the top left of the drawing area (or within each viewport).  Pick the minus symbol and make your choice.  The vports command can be used as well.
