xref .nwd geometry disappearing

I am having an issue with attaching an .nwd file into autocad 2017. When I attached an .nwd it looks fine when zoomed out, however when I zoom in to look at something geometry on the .nwd starts disappearing.

Sorry to hear its not working as expected. I would start fresh & do it all over again making sure to use the steps I have linked too, to export the nwc file then import into AutoCAD(*step #7).

If you conducted the steps & still have a issue it maybe related to, "NWC file with large coordinates is distorted when opened in Civil 3D".
