Xref Compare Function

soccercz13
Explorer
Explorer

After I save an Xref and reload the changes onto my current drawing, CAD automatically takes me to the Xref Compare tool. I believe I checked the box on "Don't show this message again." and checked "Yes, I want to compare". Turns out, I don't want to compare every time I reload the Xref. I just want it to bring in the changes like before without me "comparing it". How can I turn off the Xref compare tool or configure AutoCAD so that the tool does not appear every time I reload the changes from the Xref?

Thanks for your help in advance!

Thanks for the response. Tried messing around with those settings and I'm still having the same problem. I'd be fine with the compare function if it didn't take so long to pull up! oh well, I might be stuck with having to compare every time I reload the xref for now...

Ok the first picture shows that I need to reload the Xref and the second shows after I have reloaded it. It takes about 8-10 seconds and brings me to the Xref compare page and I have to click on the green check mark to get out of that. In previous versions, I never saw this compare page. It just loaded the xref in. So I am trying to get back to that. I want to eliminate/skip this "xref compare" page/step if possible. Thanks again for trying to help with this!

Hi @soccercz13

back at my AutoCAD:

As i wrote. The message about Compare YES/NOW - Don't ask me again

is, IF clicked 'Don't show me again' in the past, you can enable again

at OPTIONEN / SYSTEM /..

Because of..

Hey, 2021 is new to you, so learn WHAT is new

and about new, edited or obsolete commands and variable - Click!

😀

Re enable the dialog, then choose "Don't show me again" and use NO.

In the future you can start XCOMPARE or by clicking to the notify ballon, (see on my picture, lower right action shows the notify ballon)

but it will not start automatically every time.

HTH

Leave yout XREFNOTIFY on 2, so you have an easy acces to "reload and compare" if you like.

Japanies won't think so 😄

But the dialog is the same (same functions and tabs at the same place) in english too and the important key words are added in red.

But you are right!

Take YOUR time to create the same screenshot from an english version and attach here.

Thanks

My "Hidden Message Settings" do not show the same messages as the solution screenshot shows and I am still directed to xref compare mode when reloading an xref.

Hi,

>>My "Hidden Message Settings" do not show the same messages as the solution screenshot shows"

Thx for sharing, Screenshots are perfect to show it to other people.

>>"and I am still directed to xref compare mode when reloading an xref."

Directly.. without the message dialog?

Okay, I will take a look for possible problems and solutions for you.

when my drawing senses a change in the xref, a balloon pops up notifying me that there was a change to the xref and that I can reload the xref by clicking the shortcut in the balloon.  After it reloads, it enters the xref compare mode automatically.

that worked cadffm!

I changed it to zero and it no longer enters into xref compare mode.

Thanks!  Made my day.
