I'm not sure if this is the best forum to post this question in, so my apologies if not. I have also asked this question in elsewhere and have not been able to resolve the issue. Essentially, I want to use AutoCAD 2023 as my default DWG program, but Windows 11 will not acknowledge it because I had previously installed and then uninstalled AutoCAD 2024. I can open 2023, and it works fine, but I can't set it as the default. I have tried to reinstall 2023, and remove temporary files to no avail. If I manually search for 2023 to use as the default, Windows refuses to acknowledge it. Has anyone else had this problem?

I discovered the issue. Your link led me to another https://www.autodesk.com/support/technical/article/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Double-clicking-a-... which described editing the registry. I saw it was still pointing to 2024, so I renamed to 2023 and it now works the way I want it to.

I thank you for your time.
