hi. i ma new on autocad. i am working with someone on basemapping. he send file in dwg format and when i open it it show far away from wxact geolocation. i dnt know why that because its working on his pc but showing issue with mine.. can you help please?

hi. actually its not like i add location manually. he worked on location and rest i have to do.. 

so i want when i open file it show me same location as he worked on. but it shows far away.

if i add manually i have to set it by moving rotating.. hope you get it

i mean that your map may loose the connection from online map service . since we don't have your CAD dwg file take a look here for Geographic commands and check if any can help . >> Click <<

This looks like an infrastructure drawing. Are you using Vanilla AutoCAD or Civil3D?

You have two sets of green rectangles. First on 3rd Street and the second set far away in the desert. Delete the rectangles in the desert.

It doesn't affect the coordinate system. All you're doing is deleting unwanted lines in the desert and keeping the lines on 3rd Street. Deleting those rectangles doesn't affect drawing coordinates.

Even though your cursor is rotated, your drawing is still using the World Coordinate System. 

Why is your cursor rotated at a funny angle? I say funny because the cross hairs are not parallel to 3rd Street and not parallel to  the edges of the green rectangles.

Your drawing is--how can I say this kindly?--FUBAR'ed from top to bottom. It is a Civil 3D drawing with huge problems.
1. The Transformation Tab has been turned on with incomprehensible settings and rotation.
2. UCS has been rotated.
3. Edit Location has been used. Always a very bad thing in Civil 3D.
4. Unselectable entities are scattered all over.
It took a bit of doing, but I fixed your drawing. Please find it attached.

thanks dave. but my colleague share dwg files and i face issue every time same ( away from set geolocation and rotated ). so how i fix this issue so i don't face this issue next time. can you tell. i like to know which setting of my autocad need to set

How I fixed the drawing involved W-Blocking out the linework and using the ALIGN Command to re-position in a new drawing. But the simple answer is to tell your colleague to stop molesting and crippling their drawings. If this person won't stop, you need to sit down with them when they are drawing and see what they're doing. Then you'll know what to un-do to fix the drawing.

Haha. Thanks for your kind words. Actually when he open the files he dont
face issue but i live other region i am facing this. So dnt know how to
tell him to fix or stop doing what he doing. Btw thanks.
