What software to learn to for 3d visuals for clients??

Q257261.jpgWith so many different 3d software packages available on the market, Im finding it difficult to choose the right one to achieve my goal of designing bike tracks similar to the one in the attached picture. I use Autocad LT to design 2d layouts for track setouts, but I need to provide 3d visuals for clients. Can anyone point me in the right direction so I don't spend hours learning the wrong program(s).

Thanks

Chris

Hi,

How big is your budget?

I could imaging on the 0 budget side to start with Blender (>>>click<<<), it's free and it can create great 3d visualization (well, free is theory because you need to invest time to learn it 😉 ).

That can go up to Autodesk Civil 3D (>>>click<<<) which is designed to work with surfaces and corridors (so you can do your complete planing process already in 3d and you get all  informations like volumes and much more during the planing process), then do your visualization with 3DS-Max and last but not least use 3DS-Max Interactive (>>>click<<<) to bring your work to VR (give your customers a VR-Headset and let them drive around your track even before it's built).

If we know more about your needs, we might come up with additional ideas 😉
