What causes this problem with dimensions?

It's an annotative dimension style with the setting "Fit->Text placement->Over dimension style, with leader"  and it looks much better if "Fit->Text placement->Beside the dimension line" is used or if the spacing between two points is big enough. It's when the text doesn't fit in combination with "Fit->Text placement->Over dimension style, with leader" that creates this problem (a very long line reaching to the text of the dimension).

I reached a point that I think object's properties' "text inside" helps but I didn't find it in dimension style properties.

Oh, it seems to be "Fit->Fit options->Always keep text between ext lines". Odd abbreviation of it in the object's properties.
