Hi,

the "Visualize" tab only exists in the 3D-modelling workspace (OOTB).

Switch to that workspace and do your 3D-stuff.

When I show the Menu bar, the Visualize tab still doesn't show.  What am I missing?

Hi,

>> When I show the Menu bar, the Visualize tab still doesn't show

In the old pull-down menus there does not exist a "Visualize" item.

You need to use the ribbons, and there the workspace "3D Modelling".

Alfred,

Nowhere am I seeing the word "Visualize," on menus or on tabs. I have,
along the top of my screen:
File
Edit
View
Insert
Format
Tools
Draw
Dimension
Modify
Window
Help
Express; and
Parametric

Next to "Home," I see:
Solid
Surface
Mesh
Render
Parametric
Insert
Annotate
Layout
View
Manage
Output
Plug-ins
Online
ExpressTools
FeaturedApps
BIM 360; and
Performance.

Where is the Visualize tab supposed to reside?

Well, "Render" is then what you are looking for.

The thread here is discussing AutoCAD 2016, the name of this item changed with AutoCAD 2015 (>= 2015 ... "Visualize", <= 2014 ... "Render").

I have AutoCAD LT 2016 and also don't have the visualize tab or render.  Could it be that I paid Autodesk hundreds of dollars to upgrade from the previous version and they took away that feature on LT with 2016?

Hi,

>> I have AutoCAD LT 2016 and also don't have the visualize tab or render.

AutoCAD LT is the small brother of AutoCAD, reduced to 2D and no API for customization. Rendering is a 3D-function, so not supported on AutoCAD LT.

To proof that: try to type in manually:

_RENDER<ENTER>

I guess you get "unknown command", am I correct?

You can also look to that comparision table between AutoCAD and AutoCAD LT >>>click<<<

>> Could it be that I paid Autodesk hundreds of dollars to upgrade from the previous version and they took away that feature

I don't know which version and type you had before, but LT never had a _RENDER command.

LT let you do that before upgrade? Not from what it shows here:
