Viewport Scale List

Hello,

I am in AutoCAD 2016.

I am wanting to change the viewport scale of a viewport in paperspace.  I can do that, but I do not see the scales I am used to.  Normally I see a long list which includes scales like

1/8" = 1'-0"

1/4" = 1'-0"

1/16" = 1'-0"

etc.

Instead of that, I see a different list which includes only scales like

1:2

1:5

1:10

1:100

etc.

I am working in a drawing here at our company.  I do not know who created this drawing but I am guessing they created a new drawing from a default template.

Every drawing I have worked with here has had the inch/foot type scales listed.

I can choose "custom" or type SCALELISTEDIT and add scales individually but I would like to import or add the entire list of scales with inches/feet that I usually see.  Is this possible?

Also, for reference, I have changed the units in the bottom bar menu to "Architectural".  And I have used the UNITS command and changed the units to inches (which is what I usually have it at).  Not sure if I need to change any other settings.

Thank you for any help.

Somehow the "Default Scale List" option isn't even there.  What is wrong with my program.  (shown in screenshot)

Hi,

the above post for me was for using default mode.so all what you need is to press Reset button from scalelistedit dialog.

After going to SCALELISTEDIT and clicking "Reset" and choosing Imperial scales only and clicking OK and doing the SCALELISTEDIT command again, this (the attached screenshot) is what shows up: the same scale list as before (1:100, etc.), none of the inch/feet ones.  And "Default Scale List" is still not available in Options->User Preferences after this either.

Check which version you are using. The screenshot you posted is showing that you are using AutoCAD ARCH 2016. This may require a reinstall to get the imperial units loaded.

you can always try the sledgehammer approach:

(defun c:msca ()
	(command "-scalelistedit" "d" "*"
			"add" "1/8\" = 1'-0\"" "0.125:12"
			"add" "3/16\" = 1'-0\"" "0.1875:12"
			"add" "1/4\" = 1'-0\"" "0.25:12"
			"add" "3/8\" = 1'-0\"" "0.375:12"
			"add" "1/2\" = 1'-0\"" "0.5:12"
			"add" "3/4\" = 1'-0\"" "0.75:12"
			"add" "1\" = 1'-0\"" "1:12"
			"add" "1 1/2\" = 1'-0\"" "1.5:12"
			"add" "3\" = 1'-0\"" "3:12"
			"add" "1\" = 10'-0\"" "1:120"
			"add" "1\" = 20'-0\"" "1:240"
			"add" "1\" = 30'-0\"" "1:360"
			"add" "1\" = 40'-0\"" "1:480"
			"add" "1\" = 50'-0\"" "1:600"
			"add" "1\" = 60'-0\"" "1:720"
			"add" "1\" = 100'-0\"" "1:1200"
			"add" "1\" = 200'-0\"" "1:2400"
			"add" "1\" = 300'-0\"" "1:3600"
			"add" "1\" = 400'-0\"" "1:4800"
			"add" "1\" = 500'-0\"" "1:6000"
			"exit")
