Hi,
I'm experiencing a problem with the shape of viewports created to display portions of a JPEG underlay, and to mask other portions of it. I am using AutoCAD 2020.
The viewport is created on a layout tab using a polyline to outline the portion of the underlay that I want to display. The polyline is drawn on a layer dedicated to viewports. When the shape is closed I create the viewport using the object menu item for viewports. In this case the layer yellow in color, so the viewport shape is yellow.
Everything is fine up to this point.
I want to hide the border of the viewport, so I select the freeze or thaw button on the layer palette. When I do, a small portion of what should be hidden under the viewport now appears.
I am attaching a Word file with a couple of screen shots explaining the problem a little more.
Note: I get the same result with the changing viewport shape if I select freeze or thaw for all viewports. If I choose to select turning off a layer in all viewports (versus freezing) the shape of the viewport does not change.
I will end up turning off the layer in all viewports for the six layouts once they are complete. I just want to know if I am missing something that would make the freeze/thaw work on individual layouts.
Thanks,
Jeff
