Viewbase to DXF

 Hi,

I'm currently using the viewbase command in a drawing file with six sheets (various views/sections/details on each sheet). My fabricator has a program (Trutop) of which this will only accept 2d dxf drawings to work out the sheet metal requirements.

My challenge is to somehow dxf each sheet by the selection method (otherwise the whole 3d model is sent using dxfout command) without the viewbase parts of the drawing disappearing.

Is there a way to pin the viewbase views in each sheet (much like binding an X-ref to a drawing), or, does anyone know of a different method?

Thanks in Advance

Doug

EXPORTLAYOUT command will create a new dwg.  The new dwg will have all elements shown on the layout but many the viewbase objects will be blocks that will probably need exploded for your purpose.

My workflow would be to EXPORTLAYOUT, explode blocks, delete unnecessary objects, place everything on layer 0, and save as dxf.

Several steps but pretty quick in my view.

Hope this helps,

Blaine
