VBA does'nt run with Windows 10

Hello,

I'm trying to solve a problem from January  (last Windows update for my laptop) and I'm hopeless now...

I create the same topic on french autocad forum but it still not yet resolved. Maybe someone here get the same trouble and can help me.

Before Windows update, VBA on Autocad 2018 used to work perfectly on my laptop..

Now I have this warning:

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/fr/support/autocad/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/FRA...

I carried out all the steps described on this article. Unfortunately, in vain. I still have this problem and I don't know what is missing on my computer..VBA works in Excel, though.

I would me grateful if someone have some new directions.

Thanks,

Hi,

is that just one specific VBA-file (DVB-file) or does the same happen independent of the file you try to load?

How do you load that file? I have AutoCAD 2018 Update 1.1 on Windows 10/1709 and I can drag & drop DVB-files into AutoCAD without any issue (well, I'm asked if I want to load it when the file is stored in a path not listed in the trusted folders setting in AutoCAD).

Hi @Alfred.NESWADBA

Acutally I can't load any dvb file. I load them with the command GestVBA

I can even not access to VBA editor, every thing is greyed out as you can see.

I have Autocad 2018 1.1 on W10/1709 too.

Thanks for your help

Sorry about that but @Anonymous and myself had the same idea at the same time, so this discussion has been posted also on the dedicated VBA english board: https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/visual-basic-customization/cannot-activate-vba-for-autocad/m-p/7818617#M101263

Hi,

your screenshot (info about VBA) differs from my one, that's what I get:

20180301_104156.png

So you might have installed another product with VBA later than you installed the AutoCAD VBA Enabler or you installed an AutoCAD VBA Enabler which is from a different source. Uninstalling VBA-Enabler, then repair-install AutoCAD, then download VBA-Enabler from the Autodesk site and install it ... would be my next try.

Thanks @Alfred.NESWADBA

Well i will try but i did it many times. I uninstall Autocad + VBA Enabler 3 times...I download Autocad from my account and VBA Enabler from here:

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/downloads/caas/downloads/content/download-the-microso...

I will try again to uninstall VBA Enabler and repair Autocad.

This is Strange...I install it on Windows 7 PC and I have the same version : 1033.

Thanks for your help, I will let you know.

Well, I did it again but still have 1033 version...

I download VBA Enabler from Internet Explorer, what about you? Is there any chance that Something is missing when we dowload it from IE?

Maybe the problem is due to some Microsoft Visual C++ module missing?

Hi @Anonymous,

I thought I would test this on my side and it works fine with the 2018 download  - version 1033.

Hi @Alfred.NESWADBA

I will try but do you think I have to uninstall all Microsoft C++ ans install it again ? I'm afraid to  get  troubles with other Autodesk products if i delete every thing.

Hi @john.vellek

Here is my WINVER below. What is yours?

Thanks both

Hi,

When you uninstalled all VC++Redists then you should not start any program.

After uninstalling the VC++Redists you have to install all the ones from the download link (first oldest release x86, then oldest release x86, next release x86, x64 and so on). When all releases mentioned in the article are installed all Autodesk programs (and others) will work well.

Hi @Anonymous,

I have the same Windows version as you show in your image.

Try uninstalling KB4074588 and then do a reinstall of the VB.

Please select the Accept as Solution button if my post solves your issue or answers your question.

Hi Sofia,

try to uninstall your VBA 7.1 runtime and then reinstall the AutoCAD 2018 VBA runtime as you did a few times ago.

To uninstall the VBA 7.1 runtime you have to open a command prompt with Admin rights (you know how ?)

and execute the following commands:

msiexec /x {90120064-0070-0000-0000-4000000FF1CE}
msiexec /x {90F60409-7000-11D3-8CFE-0150048383C9}
msiexec /x {90F60804-7000-11D3-8CFE-0150048383C9}
msiexec /x {90F60404-7000-11D3-8CFE-0150048383C9}
msiexec /x {90F60407-7000-11D3-8CFE-0150048383C9}
msiexec /x {90F6040C-7000-11D3-8CFE-0150048383C9}
msiexec /x {90F60410-7000-11D3-8CFE-0150048383C9}
msiexec /x {90F60411-7000-11D3-8CFE-0150048383C9}
msiexec /x {90F60412-7000-11D3-8CFE-0150048383C9}
msiexec /x {90F60413-7000-11D3-8CFE-0150048383C9}
msiexec /x {90F60416-7000-11D3-8CFE-0150048383C9}
msiexec /x {90F6041D-7000-11D3-8CFE-0150048383C9}
msiexec /x {90F60C0A-7000-11D3-8CFE-0150048383C9}
msiexec /x {C33F3BA8-CA07-4449-012D-B043FE6029AA}

 UninstallVba71.png

You can copy and paste the commands.

It is possible that a few commands run into an error, ignore that.

After close the cmd windows and reinstall the AutoCAD VBA runtime as you did before.

regards

Markus

Hi @Anonymous,

It appears that you have the latest Windows update (build .251).  Did you try the steps suggested by @m_latz?

I am interested to see if the uninstall method fixes the problem.
