Utility To Convert Civil3D To AutoCAD For AutoCAD Users

I would think by now there should have been a utility for AutoCAD users, to install in AutoCAD,
to be able to convert a Civil3D file to 'regular' AutoCAD; (without looking for a Civil3D owner
and where you can't track who the original file in Civil3D came from).

Thanks.

If you find a solution I would be interested as this is a common problem where I am. The only thing I know of is someone would need to use the exporttoautocad command from C3D in your situation. We use alot of different CAD programs here, most of the popular solid modeling apps as well as Acad and multiple vertical Acad apps. It's common for people here to use C3D or other various vertical Acad app files in either Acad or any of the solid modeling apps and this situation does cause problems at times. Every now and then MDT files find their way into somebodies hands - and that's a whole 'nother story.

I should add that I haven't always been successful at finding an "Object Enabler" which solves this problem. Sometimes that seems to work but I haven't kept track.

If you install the Civil 3D object enabler on your machine then you can convert the drawing to a plain AutoCAD drawing just using AutoCAD. All you have to do is install the object enabler, open the drawing in AutoCAD and use the -EXPORTTOAUTOCAD command (including the dash before the name of the command). This will allow you to create the plain AutoCAD file without using Civil3D.
