Using AutoCAD with Zoom - AutoCAD Calculator

During the pandemic, there was a shift to use Zoom for online AutoCAD training. I have noticed a few anomalies during this time, one of which is the AutoCAD Calculator.

I run a dual screen environment (laptop screen + monitor, displaying the SAME screen). When sharing my screen using Zoom, I open up the Calculator from the Utilities panel in the Home tab on the ribbon. I can see the Calculator palette. The people on Zoom viewing my screen cannot, plus when they try to open the Calculator at their end, is does not appear.

Upon saving their drawings and closing Zoom, and then opening Zoom and AutoCAD to start another training session, lo and behold, their Calculator (palette) appears and after that it all works and appears when clicking on the Calculator icon from the ribbon. Weird, right?

NOTE: The Calculator in a dialog box format from, say, the Properties palette works fine every time. It's just the one on the ribbon that doesn't seem to like Zoom. Go figure.

If anyone has seen this happen, or has a solution, it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance! 🙂

Hi @cadfmconsultants,

Thank you for posting, that is a strange thing. I am no Zoom expert by any means but, since the calculator is a separate dialog window being opened during once the session is started, I wonder if changing the screen share type would make a difference?

For example, I believe the options are desktop, all active screens, a specific application window, or current window.
