Units command?

I might have missed something - never used the units setup command. I have always gone to Annotate - Dimensions, then set up all units. What is purpose of Units command?

Thank

If you're talking about AutoCAD based products. The UNITS command controls how the program displays angles and distances from the drawing. If you have one unit long ( I like to consider these Drawing Units ). So if your units are set to Feet. The program will report that the line is 1 foot long. Set to meters it reports 1 meter long. The exception is that if the drawing is set to Architectural it will report that the 1 Drawing Unit long line is 12 inches long.

Changing the setting changes nothing in the drawing. If you have a foot based drawing and change the units to meters. The 1 Drawing Unit line remains one unit long. It just will now say it's one meter long instead of 1 foot long.

You're welcome.

BTW. You should explore what forums are available.

This forum is more for general community topics rather that software specific questions.
