Unable to edit block in place

Hi All for some reason I cannot edit a block in place for some particular blocks in a drawing, does not happen always, but it kind of annoys me when I am unable to edit block in place and still want to see the underlying elements in the drawing. Any suggestions, would help a lot..

The message says it all, doesn't it?

Command: REFEDIT
Select reference: [picked the Block]
Errors found in references to other objects:
** Application reference missing: ACAD_DSTYLE_DIMINSPECT, to AcDbBlockTableRecord.
*Cancel*

The fact that it's a not-originally-AutoCAD drawing may have something to do with it.

Hi,

  • I get this message when i open you CAD file " This DWG file was saved by an application that was not developed or licensed by Autodesk " This alert system identifies files that Autodesk may not be able to support and lets users know that Autodesk cannot guarantee the integrity or compatibility of that DWG file with AutoCAD or any other Autodesk application.
  • Select the block without any active command then type BEDIT to get in. (It works with me)

I have no idea why, but...

I can edit the block in place after i edit the block and delete the yellow TEXT-objects.

The other TEXT-objects can remain.

Those yellow texts cause the problem, the others work just fine. (I can't figure out why)

P.S. I would recommend to use MTEXT only.

>I can't figure out why

Because Dims and Texts objects with xdata of ACAD_DSTYLE_DIMINSPECT application (needed for special dim setup of Mechanical).

But the file contains a lot of corrupt data, so this is not the only issue.
