UCS Problem When Entering ViewPort

Hi all,

I am having an ongoing issue that finally irritated me enough to try and do something about it... so here I am.

When I enter a viewport from paperspace, the UCS coordnates within the viewport revert to world coordinates whether there is a user coordinate system established or not. This typically persists until I attempt to zoom within the viewport (mousewheel scroll or zoom extents etc.). Sometimes that doesnt event help and I have to go back into paperspace and re-enter the viewport to get the UCS to kick in. I first began experiencing this in v.2018 and now it seems even worse in v.2020.

Is there a system variable that I am unaware of that may control this behavior?

I recommend using the SYSVARMONITOR to see what system variables are set & review the list of

System Variables to "Reset" any that may apply to the issue.

Set UCSFOLLOW to 0 maybe 😀👍

If USCFOLLOW is set to 1 it may cause an issue.

I tried UCSFOLLOW but it made no difference. I have attached a quick video showing the problem in action if that may give a clue to someone. You will notice the ucs icon grays out when it reverts to WCS and turns white when it goes to UCS.

Is the Viewport locked?

I just had something similar and I was reminded about this thread. It should happen if the VP is locked.
