UCS and offset issue

Look at the UCS icon's behavior? Has that got anything to do with why the user cannot offset the lwpolylines?

Command: OFFSET
Specify through point or [Exit/Multiple/Undo] <Exit>: .5
Cannot offset that object.
Select object to offset or [Exit/Undo] <Exit>

What is going on here?

I know the solution is to move everything near 0,0,0, but that does not explain why this drawing is behaving the way it does.

It does that if it's a 3dpoly and offset, it will not let you.

Hi,

I guess your coordinates are much to high to work correct with double precision (or too small).

Either use command _ID or turn on coordinates in the statusbar to check this ... or upload the dwg-file.

Hi,

type (as mentioned before) command _ID, then pick a point within your scene and look to that coordinates:

Much to high for double precision calculation with current CPU's.

How did you get the objects to these coords?

Move them more close to 0,0,0 and all will be ok.

Any suggestions besides moving the while thing near 0,0,0 coordinates?

Hi,

No, AutoCAD (and other vector based systems) don't work well at that high coordinates.

And I don't know any need to work at such high coordinates.
