I am posting this because I am starting to get frustrated about a workflow I have to proposed to my team. I would like to get some advise if you are guys have experience than me in the world of urban analysis using different tools.
My team uses mainly sketchup for design so I have to stick to it, otherwise I would use revit or so. The point is, one of the architects is drawing a masterplan in cad, perfectly drawn with polylines made out of arcs and circles and straight lines; no splines, so the data is completely accurate. Please see image below
From this data I should be able to extract information, meaning I have to quickly quantify the area of the plots (red, yellow, and blue lines). The idea is to gather all the information in a excel file, perhaps having the data in autocad and being able to export it to excel? is this possible? Not sure if it is possible to quickly quantify area of polylines, maybe with an autocad lisp routine?, attribute blocks?
The is a plugin for sketch up, called modelur, which is very good but when I translate all my lines to sketch up, the curves get transformed to tiny lines so the data gets distorted
At some point I should be able to asses the density of those blue small plots. Also, I should be able to get the assets like houses, villas (red dots) etc form the architects and being able to compose a 3d model with all those instance in order to generate cgis
I do not know if it is clear, hope it is. I am simply trying to automate processes and the most important do not loose data.
If someone can provide any insight about this I would be eternally grateful!
