Trouble Dragging Custom Tools to Palette

I created a new toll palette. When I drag the tool (symbol) to the palette it doesn't create the symbol but, adds "Polyline". I have watched 3 YouTube videos and followed detailed. What am I doing incorrectly?

This is normal because you drag a Non block item , you have first to convert your symbol to a block  ( BLOCK command ) after that you can drag it to your new palette .

This worked! I entered text in the symbol and it doesn't transfer over to the palette. Also when I select to symbol from the palette it won't give me the ability to drop on the drawing. Any ides?

and tag the symbols once on the drawing

So.............I just zoomed out and when I select to symbol it is on the drawing but not aligned with my curser. How do I align it?

Your Basepoint is wrong.
When you created a block

with BLOCK command
The is an option to set this point

with BEDIT*
please use 0,0 as basepoint, so MOVE your objects in the right position.
Move, select objects, select move from point (later your basepoint)
and move to 0,0

* thats the EDIT way too


Edit your block in your source file, save block and file

In new files or better in files without the old block, now it works.
