Trimming Hatch with Block Entity creates duplicate block entities

Autocad has started duplicating block components following a hatch trim using a block as a trimming edge.

Essentially I have a window elevation created as a block.

This block is then placed on a wall with hatching representing cladding.

When I activate the trim command & select the outer linework & trim out the hatch a significant number (hundreds) of additional individual lines are created & stacked on top of each other. If you delete the hatch, place the window & redo the hatch there's no issue.

Current service pack has been installed.

Any help greatly appreciated.

is the hatch set to be associative?

create an instance of hatch per requirement or need and assign each hatch to its own visibility state inside the block

Hi Kadmonkey, Thanks for the reply. The hatch being trimmed is not a part of the block, I'm just using the block as a cutting edge to trim the hatch around it.

Hi Randall,

No, there are no locked layers when my problem occurs.

Thanks for the input,
