Transfering all toolbars to another computer

Hello everyone,

I have a question about transferring toolbars.

As you can see in the pic.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/2mb98geb9um21tp/2017-04-24_15-08-14.jpg?dl=0

I use the classic autocad toolbars , and I added more addons from autodesk , and I created customs toolbars that in them I load my favorite lisp in icons.

I want to migrate all these toolbars in the exact position to another computer , or another autocad.

Using the migrate setting of autocad in the start menu , doesn't work so good.

Is there step by step manual that shows how to transfer all my settings ( especially my toolbars in the current position).

Thank you

Eyal

All customizations are saved within your main customization (CUIx) file.

Location shown below.

Hi @Anonymous,

I suggest that you keep all of your toolbars and other menu customizations in a partial menu. If you would like to send me your current menu(s) I would be happy to outline steps to put your customizations into a new file.

Here is an article that helps detail transferring toolbars that you might find useful.

Hi John,

I sent you my customiztion toolbars ,

Please tell me how can I save them.

As I mentioned I have edited my "acad2016doc.lsp" ,and added the lines:

(load "LINE_DIV")
(load "ObjectBreakV1-0")
(load "combinetext")
(load "3P-RecV1-0")
(load "IncArrayV1-8")
(load "BoxTextV1-2")
(load "AlignTextToCurveV1-2")
(load "clm")

for loading these lisps in autocad at startup, also I put these lisps at the same folder as "acad2016doc.lsp".

How can I migrate all my settings including this.

Thank you.

Eyal

Hi @Anonymous,

When I review some of the commands I see that they are AEC ones. Are you working with AutoCAD Architecture and not plain AutoCAD?

I imagine that the icon images are stored in a DLL that is not part of plain AutoCAD.

So, I think from just glancing at this, you are having issues with paths to your LISP routines and to your images.

Can you give me some more details?

Hi,

I use regular autocad 2016 , and transferring my workspace and toolbars to another regular autocad ( sometimes in other up versions).

I store my icon images in a folder in autocad. If you think that I should store my pictures in a specific folder I'll do so.

I just want all my settings to go with me.

Yesterday I have tried once more to migrate my settings to another computer and some of my toolbars were in a question marks , and some added commands didn't show , and the addons didn't appear.

Thank you

Eyal

Hi @Anonymous,

Is it possible to zip up your image files for me so I can see if they load properly when I select your custom workspace?

CUI command in your newer setup has a transfer tab, all you need is the copy of your old CUIx file to reference content over. Drag and Drop.

Just make sure you transfer and place your custom icons in the new setup's search paths first. ?-marks means they were not found.

Checking in on your thread, it appears that several folks have tried to help on this issue. Were you able to find a solution? Or a workaround?

Did any of the posts in the thread help with your issue?

Please post back in the thread if you are still having an issue with AutoCAD or Select Accept as Solution for the post’s that helped.

Thanks for your time.

HI @Anonymous,

You are welcome to zip up your image files so I can try to get them to work on my end properly.
