ToolsPalette Issues

Not applicable

Hello, I recently had a tools palette that I created and imported
into AutoCAD. However now when I try to use the blocks it says "it
can't find the files" I've tried relinking the files and even moving
them to a new location and relinking them but nothing seems to work.
Hopefully, you can help me out or point me the direction of a forum
that will help me. Cheers, Kelsey

The error message usually means the source file for the block is not accessible: where is that?

Hi,

>> when I try to use the blocks it says "it can't find the files"

The palette just knows where the block is stored, if that drawing is not found then you get that message.

So if you have created the palette on one system from a drawing that is stored in that system on drive C: you have to copy this file(s) to the other workstation with the same path.

For future: whenever you create a palette, make sure that the drawing with the blocks (you are using in the palette) is first saved into a network folder which every person can use/has access to that file(s).

I mean I moved the drawing with the original blocks for the tools palette along with the tools palette files themselves to a general location but when I import them in CAD they still won't work. It still says the location cannot be found. (see attached screenshot).
