Hi,

may be a restriction of permissions. Does the same happen when you start AutoCAD as admin?

Hi,

then try to create a new Windows user on your system, login with that account, turn off antivirus software and try the same again.

Also verify with your admin which folders he is protecting from being modified.

Hi,

To be admin does not mean you start software with admin-permissions.

And to create a new user account makes sure that no user profile conflicts exists, that's why I was suggesting that way.

I just replied to a very similar post to this, so let me ask, how are you creating your tool pallets?

If you make them by the "drag and drop" method (that is, taking a pre-made one from a windows explorer window, and dragging it into your drawing), that's the issue. When you "drag and drop" files, AutoCAD doesn't read them from the file you drug it from, instead, it creates a temp folder, stores the files to be transferred in that temp folder, then imports them into AutoCAD from there. The big issue with that is that temp folders get deleted every time the computer gets turned off, so AutoCAD no longer has a valid path.

If this is your issue, you have to create the pallet from opening content center, finding the files containing the information you want to import, then drag and drop from the content center.

Hi there, no i have the issue if I

* Right Click the Tool Palette

* Customise Tool Palettes

* Add a new palette

* Then create my commands on the palette

AutoCAD doesnt seem to store the changes.

Hi @Anonymous,

I found this article that describes the same problem (I think). Give it a try and let me know if that helps.  It does refer to a permissions problem so I am not 100% convinced it will do the trick but my fingers are crossed.

Please select the Accept as Solution button if my post solves your issue or answers your question.
