Text Orient Error

Hi,

I have been getting this error message come up when doing a TORIENT command and the only way I can seem to get past it is by saving closing the dwg and re-opening. It then works for a while and happens again. This also is not drawing specific, happens to alot of different drawing files.

Any ideas on what causes this to happen??

Thanks in advance.. (screen shot attached)

Mark

TORIENT is an express tool.  This is an error that appears every few releases due to coding of the error checking program.  I'm not sure if it is because other custom routines are using the same *error* program or if it is because something got left open ended within the main AutoCAD program.  It is a bug that has been reported, however Express tools are unsupported, so I'm not sure if anything can or will be done about it.  Some people have suggested manually reloading the required express tool files, but I'm not 100% positive that will work in every instance.

Hi @Mark_C_123,

I believe this is an error in the bug checking but I found these steps that might help:

  1. Use the "Flatten" Command.
  2. Select the desired objects and hit enter.
  3. Verify that the selected objects now have an elevation of "0".
  4. Reuse "TORIENT" command.

Ive had a similar issue with "TORIENT" command. It fails, along with "MPEDIT", AND perhaps other commands. They simultaneously fail to work until the drawing is re-opened... (not a full AutoCAD reboot).

Can you share the screenshot of the error along  with the AutoCAD version(_ABOUT command) which you are using?
